• Licensed/Insured: We are a licensed General Contractor in the State of Georgia. As of July 1, 2008, the State of Georgia required all contractors to have a license to work in Georgia. While this does not ensure a contractor’s ability to perform a certain job, it is proof that a contractor has completed the licensing exam, and carries the required workers compensation and liability insurances.

Design/Build our specialty!

The idea behind 'Design/Build' allows homeowners to hire the services of a Remodeling or Custom Home contractor to not only construct the project but to design it as well. This eliminates the need for homeowners to hire the services of an outside Architectural firm to handle the design of their new home or remodeling project. A true Design/Build philosophy includes the services of a designer, either on staff or in direct relationship with the construction company. While the concept is not new in the construction business, its popularity in the marketplace is still in its infancy. Up until a few years ago, this philosophy in home building/remodeling was almost unheard of. Still today, only a few contractors, Southland Custom Homes and Southland Home Solutions, offer true Design/Build services.

Why Design/Build? For many years, a homeowner who desired a major expansion would hire a local architect for the design phase, which then would be given to a group of contractors to bid on the project. This would sometimes lead to questions from both sides on the scope and function of the design, which in many cases led to miscommunication and error. Why take this approach when the ultimate goal is to have a project run smoothly and leave the homeowner pleased upon completion of their project? We have implemented this philosophy into our business for the benefit of our customers. By choosing Design/Build, clients will now have more control over the design, budget and construction process. Responsibility now lies with the Design/Build contractor.

• We provide you with a detailed, easy to understand proposal that clearly states all the work that will be done and how much it will cost.
• We make it our business to begin on time and stick as closely as possible to the schedule. You'll hear from us daily to keep you updated on the progress of your work.
• Whether you're remodeling a basement, building a deck or creating an entire new addition to your home, you'll see the highest level of craftsmanship in our work.
• There is no charge for the initial consultation. You'll have lots of questions at the first meeting. We'll listen. And then we'll ask you questions to inspire your best ideas. And, we’ll probably give you a few suggestions of our own.
• Weather your project is large or small we can provide the necessary floor plans and dimensional drawings. If architectural plans are required, we will be happy to work with your architect or ours.
